Adventure-Ready Gear You Didn’t Know You Needed

David and Tiffany Wade — the adventurous duo behind the growing Best Life Adventure Channel on YouTube and Instagram — recently attended Overland Expo Pacific Northwest (PNW), held June 27–29, 2025, at the Deschutes County Fair & Expo Center in Redmond, Oregon. Known for their epic Transamerica Trail coast-to-coast overlanding expedition in 2023, the Wades have been capturing the attention of outdoor enthusiasts seeking inspiration, knowledge, and practical gear insights .
At this year’s Expo, Overland Expo PNW welcomed over 16,500 explorers and featured more than 320 exhibitors showcasing the latest innovations in off‑road rigs, camping technology, and eco‑savvy gear overlandexpo.com. From immersive training sessions on winching and recovery to a film festival spotlighting modern overland storytelling, the event offered both high-end equipment demos and hands-on learning opportunities
In their article, David highlights five standout products that captured their attention—gear that didn’t just look good, but also offered real-world utility and innovation in the overlanding lifestyle.
Guzzle H2O - Stream - Portable Water Filtration & Purification System

Guzzle H2O is the industry leader for portable water purification systems and the Stream is a prime example of why they are so popular. This small unit comes inside a durable carry case and is roughly the size of a first aid kit. It contains a built in pump that allows you to draw water from any source into your container at roughly .75 gallons per minute. The Stream; however, is much more than a simple pump. It has a 0.5 micron Activated Carbon Block Filter which is highly effective at reducing sediment, chlorine taste and odor, VOCs, NSF 41 emerging contaminants, lead, mercury, and other chemical contaminants. Additionally, it has LED UV-C purification which is 3rd party tested to inactivate 99.99% of bacterial, protozoa, and viruses. MSRP = $995.
Rockpot – Rockpot Mini

The Rockpot (a clever name twist on Crock Pot) is a portable cooking system that requires no electricity or propane. The heating source is a cooking stone that you simply set in your campfire for 20 minutes. Place the hot stone inside the unit, then fill the cooking pot with your raw food and set it on top of the stone. Close the lid and place it in your vehicle and your meal will cook while you are driving to your next campsite. Rockpot heats your food for up to 10 hours so that once your camp is setup, your dinner is ready. MSRP = $199.99.
Anymaka – Hammock Stand

Anymaka has created a portable hammock stand designed to be setup in seconds. Once opened you can connect a standard sized hammock for use as a chair and/or bed. It comes with a handy carry case which is roughly the size of a small pop up tent. It weighs less than 25 pounds and holds more than 500 pounds. MSRP = $259.
Primo Workz – Tailgate Bag

Primo Workz has come up with a clever way of storing gear, trash, firewood or even wet clothes. Their tailgate bag is made of a durable PVC material with drain holes in the bottom. It has an extremely soft padded back designed to protect the paint on your tailgate from scratches. 4 clips attach it in a way that allows the tailgate to be opened and closed without removing the bag. Releasing 2 of the clips allows the bag to hang so that it can be accessed with the tailgate open. MSRP = $260.
Daylodge – Camp Kitchen

Daylodge has created a camp kitchen in a durable carrying case. At first glance it appears to be a back pack; however, this innovative unit is designed to mount to your vehicle. Once attached, the front wall opens to reveal a cutting table, a utensil organization panel and a bottle and cup panel. Don’t want to use it as a kitchen, no worries, Daylodge repurposes them to be everything from a portable workstation for your laptop, a recovery bag for tools and gear or even an after hours bag which acts as a minibar. MSRP = $350.
